چکیده
Resolving the interaction between soil and water is critical to understanding a wide range of geotechnical applications. In cases when hydrodynamic forces are dominant fluidization expected, it necessary account for microscale interactions water. Some existing models such as coupled Computational Fluid Dynamics–Discrete Element Method (CFD-DEM) can capture quite accurately. However, often computationally expensive cannot be easily applied at scale that would aid design process. Contrastingly, continuum-based Two-Fluid Model (TFM) feasible scalable alternative. this study, we explored potential TFM simulate granular soil–water interactions. The model was validated by simulating internal sand bed due an upward jet. Analogous leakage from pressurized pipe, simulation compared with available experimental data evaluate performance. numerical results showed decent agreement in terms excess pore pressure, patterns, physical deformations violent flow regimes. Moreover, detailed characteristics particle size distribution could implemented, which previously considered shortcoming model. Overall, model’s performance indicates viable tool particulate mixtures.

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model
over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

In this paper, we focus on the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)-based model structures have been used in assessing bank branch efficiency. Probing the methodologies of 75 published studies at the branch level since 1985 to early 2015, we found that these models can be divided into four categories: standard basic DEA models, single level and multi-level models, enriched (hybrid) models and specia...

Model Validation and Simulation Studies : Effects of Nonlinear Internal Device Friction on Continuum Robotic Manipulators
Recently, robotic surgery systems using passive flexible catheters have been developed for minimally invasive surgical applications. The soft, atraumatic construction of these devices help reduce injury to delicate anatomical structures while providing a means of tool placement and control. To provide kinematic and control relationships, various models of continuous catheters have been develope...
